![]() I feel like Ratta is better about support moving forward. Aside from being focused on note-taking, I noticed there are people on the Boox FB group who have devices that still do not run Android 9 even though the devices they bought (Note Pro and Nova Pro, 2019) were marketed as they would be able to upgrade in a future update. ![]() I had more faith in the developers to improve the software, in a smart way.I feel like generally Boox devices are too tablet-y, at least from my experience-I had to fiddle a lot with the settings of even my "simple" Poke 3. I was not looking for an e-ink tablet, I was looking for a device that had features good for note-taking and for my writing, which SN has (Titles, Digest, etc.) and seems like will continue to add more. The features are more geared towards note-taking, and that's the focus of the company. However, despite enjoying that Boox device I opted for a Supernote when it came time to buy a notebook replacement for three major reasons: I actually have a Boox (Poke 3) and it was my first non-Kindle e-ink device and have been really satisfied with it for its purpose (reading ebooks from different platforms, using apps like LingQ, etc) and have recommended Boox to people looking for readers too. The Kindle integration seems better with the SuperNote versus the Note Air, but I didn't get a chance to compare them side by side. The biggest selling point IMO was the back light, but I'm not taking notes in the dark. They say you can run some Android apps, which is true, but you have to go through some steps that I was told aren't documented out of the box (easy to find on the Internet and my colleague - also an engineer - didn't have any problem following them). ![]() The Note Air writing experience wasn't as good as the rM2, especially with the out of the box stylus which felt very cheap. I didn't get to compare the Note Air and the A5X next to each other, but I also didn't even consider a Note Air to replace the rM2. This was before the Connect subscription matter that turned me off to rM and lead me to buy a SuperNote A5X to replace it. I'm an engineer also and while I haven't owned a Boox Note Air, I did get to use one next to my (soon to be former) rM2.
